Do most realtors pay for staging?

This one comes up a lot! The answer is, it varies by market and agent.
Some realtors do pay for staging as it can help sell homes more quickly and at a higher price. While it varies by individual and property, it is common practice for realtors to either pay for their preferred stager, or recommend the buyer cover home staging services.
Many real estate agents include staging costs as part of their marketing strategy. Your agent will be the best person to guide you on if a given property needs staging to sell well.
We find that “Full Service” agents that carry a larger commission like 3% to 4% or higher are more likely to offer staging, photos, 3d tours, and video expenses included while agents that charge a lower commission or a flat-fee are more likely to pass those costs on to the seller based on what marketing the seller would like.
Some other strategies we see include:
The agent splitting the cost of staging with the seller
The agent paying for the initial staging and the seller paying for extensions
The seller paying for staging and the agent reimbursing the seller at closing
Agents adjusting their commission % based on the level of marketing a given home will need
